Another ball-playing central defender who signed permanently
from Man Utd for a bargain fee of £100,000 in November 1998
after impressing during a loan spell. Son of Burnley legend
Frank Casper, Chris went through an apprenticeship at Old
Trafford and was also loaned to Swindon and Bournemouth
after failing to secure a first-team place for United.
Initially employed as a sweeper by Tommy Burns, the former
England Under 21 international has been a valuable addition
to the squad.
