Intel goes offensive whit an slimed PentiumII. In the U.S. the market for computer under 1000 Dollars has been growing but Intel's PentiumII is to expensive to be used in a budget computer. Intel is releasing a new chipset, motherboard design and an slimed PentiumII.Intel's slimed version of PentiumII doesn't contain any secondary cache. The Chipset is called 440LXR, it can only use one CPU and cant use ECC memory's It can handle three PCI, one ISA, two DIMM's and AGP. Intel is designing a new motherboard design, Micro ATX.

Quake2 Stopped in Germany. Activision announced that Quake2 has been stopped by German USK. Quake2 is to violent even whit an 18year limit.

Hackers broke into Yahoo's Site. Monday night did an unknown Hacker broke into Yahoo's Site. He posted a message, it quotes " Let Kevin Mitnick out of jail, or well drop an artificial bomb that will destroy all networks on earth ". In the message it wrote that all that been to Yahoo's site at Monday had been infected by the bomb ( aprox. 26 Million ).

K6 in portable computers. By the end of the year or next year, will many manufactures offer portable PC:s whit AMD's K6. The second generation of the K6 builds on 0,25micrometers, witch gives speed from 266MHz to 300MHz and it's under 8watts effect. AMD is also planing a K6+ for the portable market in 1998.

Die Bye The Sword Demo is out. It's big, around 11.9MB it requires DirectX 5.0 and supports 3DFX.

The merge whit Microprose and GT Interactive has crashed, Microprose's chief Stephen Race announced it yesterday. - Both company agrees that it's simply not the right time to combine the two companies, Says GT Interactive Chief Ron Chaimowitz. Even if the two company wont merge they will work together in the future.
