This is not a picture of my desperat attemt to make a gingerbread house. Oh no, This is Photoshop, this is so much better. A clean kitchen, no sticky socks and a happy stomach. But if you have children this is really the thing to make with them as the dough tastes nice. The cokies are supposed to be hard so make them thin.

A 150 Swedish Pepparkakor (gingerbread)
3 dl sugar
1 dl water
1/2 dl syrup
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
200 g butter
(2 tbs brandy) optional
about 1 liter of weat flower (600 g)
2 tablespoons bicarbonate

Bring sugar, water, syrup and the spices to boil. Let it cool. Mix the butter and brandy well. Work everything together and store it cool to the next day. Make your cookies thin and bake them on a greased tray for aprox 5-10 minutes in 200°.
The Swedish name is peppercokie, but there is no pepper in the dough. Have fun.
