To recap the main points of this publication:

  • Locate the antennaaway from noise sources.

  • Don't put up toomuch antenna for the receiver to minimize overloading and otherstrange receiver behavior.

  • Consider the useof an external pre-selector or filter to reduce the effects ofstrong signals.

  • Consider installinga second antenna with a different polarization or height to minimizethe effects of signal fading.

  • Antennas that aredesigned to work at desired frequencies will perform better thanrandom lengths of wire.

  • Follow safety precautionswhen installing antennas.
  • And finally, if "Old Sol" does his worst and propagationgoes away, find a good book to read.
