
- Never mount anantenna so that if it breaks it would fall onto a public highwayor footpath.
- Never hang theantenna above telephone or high-voltage power lines.
- Never positionan antenna support that, if it falls, would touch power or telephonelines.
- Watch when carryingor positioning a ladder that you do not touch overhead power linesattached to the building or running across the back yard.
- Use proper climbingequipment if you are working on the roof, tying one end of a nyloncord around your waist, and the other end around a firm anchorpoint (e.g., a chimney stack).
- Take precautionsto properly ground the antenna system to reduce the possibilityof lightening strikes. Provide the capability to disconnect thereceiver from the antenna and the electrical mains in the eventof an electrical storm to prevent surges affecting the receiverthrough the antenna connection or the power supply.
- Take care of thewildlife. In order to prevent birds accidentally flying into theantenna, a piece of aluminium tape or foil attached to certainportions of the antenna wire may help.
- In most casesit's best to work with a friend in case of a problem. Common senseprevails.
