1996-11-22 R Mauro Nunez 6065.7 info earlier (t) reported by myself, did indeed come back to my letter. Not surprisingly, they are cautious about their present whereabouts. Neither confirming nor denying my fq info, general manager Vladimir Gutierrez says, "Initially, we were on 6142 kHz. Unfortunately, there are many power outages in the rural area where the transmitter is located, which has damaged the transmitting equipment in various ways. We are trying to solve the problem [...]" The answer could of course have been a bit more explicit, but one has to understand their position. Who would really want to acknowledge a mishap? (Klemetz, Dateline Bogota) Cumbre 113

1996-10-18 R Mauro Nunez 6065.6 2355 Some unintelligible distorted noise here at 2355. I have written them to ask if this is them. (Klemetz DLB Oct 18) Cumbre 110
1996-09-20 R Mauro Nunez ? 6065.7 2230 totally unreadable. - Stn ID referred to in previous Dateline is a canned variety, with a charango theme as a cue, ending "... depto. de Chuquisaca, Republica de Bolivia".Prgr style is also consistent with previous logs of Mauro Nunez, on 6142. (Klemetz DLB) Cumbre 104
1996-04-25 Radio Mauro Nunez 6142 info has been off the air for over a month. (H. Klemetz DATELINE BOGOTA via Lobdell) Cumbre 90
1996-04-12 R Mauro Nuñez ? 6142 2245 with news in Spanish about Bolivia under QRM. 32332 (Penaud, April 12) DXWin 10
1996-01-24 R Mauro Nunez 6142 2230 Villa Serano W strong signal. (Mantyla) With folk songs and a canned ID at 1001. (Valko Jan 26) Heard as late as 0230 with same id I previously reported. (Johnson) Cumbre 71
1996-01-16 Radio Mauro Nunez 6142 0023-0132 Good steady signal as well as modulation. Theme song must be "Roseanna" by ?REO Speedwagon? as they played it or parts of it nine times in the hour that I listened! "Roseanna" was every other song for the better part of this hour. YL announcer every couple of songs with occasional t/c and other talk I didn't understand. I believe program was "Musica del ?Media?". In addition to "Roseanna", the only other English pop song I heard was part of "Gloria". All the other songs I heard were Spanish vocals with only one flute and drum tune played. Canned ids at 0031 and 0132: (guitar interlude of about 10 seconds) then man "Radio Mauro Nunez ... " (same guitar again) "transmite en ? 9 metros en onda corta ... kilocyclos ... Departmento ..." (Someone who knows some Spanish can probably fill in the gaps in the above by listening to my tape). (Johnson Jan 16) Cumbre 69
1996-01-10 R Mauro Nunez ? 6142.0 2310-2345 Mostly male talk w few mx interruptions (Bolivian style). At times heavy splatter from 6145. (Ekwall Jan 10) Cumbre 68
1996-01-02 Radio Mauro Nuñez 6142 2310 has not left shortwave as reported elsewhere. Heard several nights just after New Year's eve. Normally plays lots of Bolivian music nonstop, very few announcements or ID's. On Jan. 2 played music by the great Bolivian group Kjarkas for almost an hour. ID: "(Esta es?) Radio Mauro Nu~nez, emisora del Centro de Estudios /.../ transmite del (?) y onda corta 6142 kc, desde Villa Serrano, Departamento Chuquisaca, Repu'blica de Bolivia". (Pedersen Jan.2) Cumbre 69
1995-08-24 R Mauro Nunez 6142 info seems to have disappeared. Haven't hrd it prior to 1015 in about a month. Nothing in the evening either. (Valko) Jihad 47
1995-07-30 Radio Mauro Nunez 6142 info is the station here per a verification card. Address is: CEDEC, Casilla 196, Sucre, Bolivia. The Argentine Dx who ided it as Radio Bandobulto now says he is hearing the id as Radio Bandonegro from as early as 0930 until 1115. (Svenson SWB via Play Dx via Hauser WOR via Johnson Jihad Dx) Notice that all these ids have four syllables. Latins are tough to id given poor conditions and frequent use of echo announcements. (Johnson) Jihad 44
1995-06-01 R Mauro Nunez 6142 0945 reports of this one being heard between 2330 and 0015 keep popping up in Play Dx but I have yet to see one that mentions an id. On several occasions both mornings (0945) and evening (2315), I have heard a station here but they are playing continous music and I never hear any announcements. I only hear the one unid station rather than the two the Play Dxers are reporting. The other station they are reporting here (sans ids) is the Peruvian R. Concordia 6141.2v. (Johnson Jihad) Jihad 35
