Station name reads cinco mil doscientos sesenta y cuatro in Spanish. Was first noticed at 0025-0350* 14/10, comunicados y huaynos until 0235. Station identification: "Atención a la hora exacta, 7 de la noche 52 minutos, 7 y 52. Esta es Radio 5264 que transmite desde la ciudad de Chiriaco en el distrito de Imaza ... radio para todos Uds." Station QTH Chiriaco was formerly called Chiriyacu which means "cold river" in Quechua. At 0236 bilingual px in Spanish and Aguaruna. It is a native language of Aguaruna (Ajwajun) tribe living in the Alto Marañon region, that includes Santiago, Nieva, Cenepa, Numpatakay & Chiriaco. (R Condorcanqui also broadcasts in Aguaruna dialect). S/off with NA 0350*. The following day I confirmed its sign on at 2235. A new station audible here now that the stn on 5277.2 is gone. First noted as an UNID by McVicar. Weak and unreadable in Bogotá, Oct 5. On Oct. 10, sufficient audio for an ID:"Radio 5264". The station is at Chiriaco, in the Amazonas dept. "el último rincón de la patria" the DJ says. The studio addres is Jr. Ricardo Palma s/n (= sin número) and sked *0530-0930* local time.
