Cerro de Pasco, When I came across presumed R. Altura on 6479.80, with a delightful signal and playing fine local music, I thought I'd ID it via parallel 3340. But what I heard there was a program with a man in mid-tirade, mentioning "hermanos...escuchando Radio Altura...esta programa La Voz de la Liberacion". Program seemed to be made up of interviews on the street or other unrehearsed talk. Numerous R. Altura IDs in passing in the program. All decidedly not // 6479.80. Finally heard a R. Altura ID on 6479.90 at 0229, after which there was a long, out-of-tune anthem and 0233*. 3340 with DJ program and mentioning Cerro de Pasco. (Jay Novello-NC, 3/8/97) |
