1996-06-24 Radio Los Andes 6479.7 info still has not given an address over the air. One of the regular announcers is William Cerro Carrion. It might pay to write to him directly. (Klemetz, Dateline Bogota, 6/24 via Lobdell) Cumbre 96

1996-05-16 R Los Andes 6479,7 0400 has been quite difficult to log here in Paraguay, weak with a fair bit of QRM. On May 16 I heard it from just before sign off at 0400 with positive ID, R Los Andes, otherwise hard to hear anything else. But on May 20 I had better reception 0130-0210, trailer - also run at sign off - sounding like "Desde progreso.............distrito de Huarmaca, provincia de Huancabamba, Departamento de Piura,.............................Con mensaje de amor por el progreso, integración, bienestar de los pueblos del norte y oriente del Perú. Radio Los Andes, desde Huarmaca. Onda corta, banda internacional de 49 m. Para el Perú y el Mundo, Radio Los Andes" - SINPO was 23432.(Iversen, May 20) DXWin 15
1996-05-13 R. Los Andes 6479.74 0017-0300 Pgm of OA campo mx w/M host in variable echo effect between songs giving many many Mothers Day greetings and many TCs. Ments of Juanjui, Cusco, Lima, possibly Arequipa, and many ments of musicales and what appeared to be a slogan as "Universal de la radio". 2 nice IDs during song at 0105 and at 0107 as "R. Los Andes en el aire". The excited M shouted an ID ending an anmnt at 0122 as "Rrrrrradio LOS ANNNNNNDESSSS"!!! No canned anmnts at all. Great signal, better than R. Satelite!!!! Hans says they were still going then his tape ran out at 0515!!! No doubt on late (or maybe a special bdcst) for Mothers Day. WRTH lists 2 stations named R. Los Andes on MW. Could this be the old one on 5030, a new one?? Rich McVicar, can you hear this during the day?? QTH?? No on on subsequent nights unfortuantely. (Valko, May 13) Cumbre 86

1996-05-09 Radio Los Andes 6479.8 0000 Huarmaca (Piura); They use fuel generated power, often off around 0000 to refuel. Mighty signal at night.
