1997-03-25 R San Juan 4420.0 2230 Aramango, Bagua, with several ads of the "bar restaurant" type. Poor. (Henrik Klemetz) DXWin 58
1997-03-23 R San Juan 4420.3 0003 unheard for a fortnight, now back Mar 2 with selection of tropical dance music, canned ID's and live TC's. Surprisingly, the station signed off 0003 (Mar 3) with a long canned ID which I had to play back a couple of times, due to poor reception and QRM of all sorts, before venturing to establish the QTH, which was mentioned at the outset of the ID, "Desde el progresista puerto de Aramango...", a place on the shores of the Maranon river, in the Amazonas dept., located a bit to the north of the town of Bagua, while Lonya Grande is to the south of the same town. (Lonya Grande is the QTH for the other R San Juan, the one on 5775.3, which was signing on the same evening, Mar 2, at 2355). (Klemetz) DXWin 55
1997-03-05 R San Juan 4420.2 2321 The new one, first noted early Feb as R San Juan but without a clear indication of the QTH, came back with a canned s/off Mar 2, 0003, "Desde el progresista puerto de Aramango..." Other canned ID's said "R San Juan, la numero uno (hmm, I seem like hearing that slogan in some other context..), la voz de ...." (this latter word is nonsensical to me for the time being). On Mar 5, 2321, with a clear ID, "R San Juan, desde el distrito de Aramango, para toda la region nororiental del Maranon". Freq seems to be announced as "4400 kcs", not 4000 as previously thought. - The mixing of their carrier and that of R Bambamarca "Frecuencia Lider", 4419.4, should produce a nice het in northern Peru. 1997-02-13 Radio San Juan 4420.2 2315 "Informacion de la hora... que le informa R San Juan, desde el distrito de..., para toda la region nororiental del Maranon". Typical annc't. Unheard latter part of Feb. (Klemetz/Dateline Bogota, Feb 26) DXWin 54
Excited male announcer, OA music. Nice ID at 1115. Frequency drifted constantly between 4565.1 - 4565.4. (Kohlbrenner, Feb. 7) DXWin 52
1997-02-06 R San Juan 4420.2 0127 "para toda la region nororiental del Maranon", many time at the begining of the month, Feb 6 until closing at 0127 with an anthem that wasn't national anthem of Peru. Announcing freq as 4000 kHz They don't have commercial announcements; transmit music asking for listeners in Cajamarca. Very weak signal and unluckly I haven't heard the QTH; Anyway, it can't be the same one that was on befor 4000.5 (Klemetz Feb 6) Cumbre 125
