already on at tune-in with surprisingly strong signal for a few minutes before fading. Much static and some UTE QRM but usual electrical noise was not present. Program of almost continuous Peruvian music with a few announcements by a man. Announcer shouted "Radio Majestad" at 1052. However, signal was fading significantly by 1055 and virtually gone by 1105. According to the frequency list of MTC issued in January 1997, "Radio Majestad S.A." was licensed to made an experimental transmission for one year, on the frequency of 4870.0kHz with an output power of 1kW under the Ministerial Resolution No.0230-95-MTC/15.17, dated June 28, 1995. Its callsign is OCX4T. When I visited Sonorama Radio (OCY4G 1100kHz) at Calle Real No.270, El Tambo in Huancayo, in January 1995, the station owner informed me that they were planning to establish a new shortwave station in Huancayo using the former shortwave transmitter of Radio Pampas (4854.3kHz). As far as I remember, Radio Pampas ceased its transmission several years ago, and shortly afterward, its transmitter was transferred from Pampas to Huancayo. The registrated address is Calle Real No.420, but "Calle 1033 oficina 302" should be correct one. (TIN) |

New station located in Huancayo. Heard as early as 0955 until killed by co-channel Voz de Upano sign on at about 1120-5. Program I am hearing is campo music with a male announcer in Spanish.
