Moyobamba; w/pasillos, TC, pop mx, IDs. Gave address of Jiron Reyes Guerra 579, Moyobamba, Depto. de San Martin, Peru. This is the same as last week's unid. on 4187. On Feb.6, they were up on 4190.92. Frequency drifts noticeably during a listening session. As the Lonely Planet travel guide describes, Moyobamba is 860 meters above sea level on the way from the mountains to the eastern jungles. From there, the road drops significantly as one travels southeastward to Tarapoto, at 356 meters above sea level. The "Selva Superior" name might fit if it was taken to mean "higher jungle." However, after our Latest Catch broadcast, Henrik Klemetz FAXed from Bogota. He completed the street name for me and mentioned that "Radio Selva-Superior" is probably a slogan and a pun. (I don't get the pun.) Henrik mentions that they are a legal station on FM 93.7 MHz. During IDs, they give FM 93.7 and onda corta "4200 kcs." On 4193.48 on Feb.7th (McVicar) |
