Silent for a long time, the Peruvian on this fq has reappeared, Nov 30, 2230 and past midnight. Not surprisingly, it is no longer R Estelar, although it is, indeed, a stn located in Moyobamba. ID is R Universal, studio address "Jr. San Carlos a media cuadra del Grupo Petroselva". (I'm not 100% sure of "Grupo Petroselva", but that's the best I can suggest). Prgr "Atardecer campesino" runs until midnight, and is followed by "Panorama musical", a 2-hour show hosted by Manuel Jibaja Ramirez, who is a brother to Rider Jibaja, the R Estelar manager. Per annc'ts, the stn will be on the air in the morning from 1000 onwards. Good level, but the audio quality is not what it used to be. (Klemetz/Dateline Bogota) |

This is the correction of the New OA outlet. I reported that 5766.90 is Radio Solar de Moyobamba, but according to an investigation of Henrik Klemetz in Bogota (via E-mail from Richard McVicar) the correct station name should be Radio Estelar. Naturally I rechecked my tape dated on 23/04/96 and it said "Radio Estelar de Moyobamba en la banda internacional de 60 metros onda corta." Many thanks for Henrik Klemetz and Rich McVicar for this advise. (TIN) |

has definitely settled in the town of Moyobamba. Station read my letter on April 22, 23 on the newscast "Dialogando" between 1200-1300 UTC. The address used was Jr. Callao 768, Moyobamba. Their other address is Jr. Trujillo 289 which is also the location of the transmitter manufacturer Centro Laboratorios Laser. On May 2nd, the DJ in charge of their morning program "Amanacer cajamarquino" said the station had received some nice letters from abroad, but no names were given. (Klemetz, Dateline Bogota) |

First heard this stn on Apr 16, and I thought it was Estacion Soritor. But I rechecked my tape, because I heard several IDs as "Radio Estelar de Moyobamba en la banda internacional de 60 metros onda corta." According to anmt, the station is now operating from Moyobamba S/on a round 1040V. Thanks to McVicar and Klemetz for the id. (TIN) Radio Esteler seems to be the latest name for the OA station here that's been playing games. Said to be broadcasting from Jiron Callao 768, Moyobamba. DJs have been heard referring to two international freqs., specified as "Estacion Soritor"-5766 kHz and R. Esteler-5768 kHz. The transmitter manufacturers calling themselves Laboratorio Laser are now located at the same address as R. Esteler. One cannot tell whether the station is in Soritor or Moyobamba, but the station is in the process of moving from Soritor to Moyobamba, only a few kms away. (Klemetz DLB via Lobdell) |

Soritor, Prov. de Rioja; with cumbia, OM with TC, ID, job anmts, ads, mentions of the Provincia de Rioja, saludos, reading and inviting letters. At one point mentioned "esta ciudad deSoritor." I've been stumped by the IDs over the past few weeks--guessing at "Estacion Pulitor." However, when hementioned that it was also the name of the city, I looked around Rioja and found a "Soritor" only a few km away, on the road to Moyobamba. I should have thought of checking the map for a "Pulitor"-sounding place the first time I heard them, July 11. I'm sure an address for letters is on today's tape and will try not to take two months to dig it out :-) (McVicar 7/30) Tentatively heard here from 1127-1140 fade with continous campo music, no announcements. Thanks Rich's tip. (Johnson 8/2) |
