Greetings prospective player,
Generally a list of features isn't what
attracts good players to an interesting mud, however, at Tempora Heroica
we are proud of the many changes from the stock Circle2/Archipelago code
that I'd like to share some of them with you.
Tempora Heroica is a relatively new mud
that has only been up-and-running for little over one year now. But,
do not let the age of the mud fool you into thinking it is off-the-shelf
stock code. First off, Tempora Heroica has all the changes and code advancements
that came with Archipelago including a new and complex magic system based
on Ars Magica, mounts and carts, online creation with internally balanced
mobiles and equipment, no classes -- learn what you want based only upon
your race and abilities, working scabbards, sized equipment that needs
to be mended and resized, and a sophisticated mobile scripting program.
With Tempora Heroica, a few of the changes we've made and added are homes
for characters, character-driven clans, improved shop code for a better
mud economy, dynamic-socials, directional emotes, lycanthropy and other
diseases, and more skills, more spells, and more details such as coin flipping,
snow and sleet, and lakes and rivers your character can drink from. Despite
Tempora Heroica's Circle2 roots, many players think it is more MUSH like
than DIKU.
The world of Tempora Heroica is NOT filled
with smurfs, power-tripping administrators, hokey religions lead by self-described
mud gods, and stock zones or poorly written areas. It is filled with a
mixture of creatures from folklore such as selkies, pixies, and trolls,
interesting players who value fun and a quality mud, and interesting areas
written expressly for the Archipelago codebase or Tempora Heroica in a
Medieval fantasy environment. The writers who create areas on Tempora Heroica
pay close attention to game balance, details such as spelling and grammar,
and take care to provide rich descriptions that are both important and
interesting to read.
Tempora Heroica is not the biggest, most
well-know mud available for free over the Internet, but if you're looking
for something slightly different, moderately challenging, with room to
develop a character in a world that lends itself to roleplaying, then Tempora
Heroica is worth your time to visit and try for yourself.
Thank you for your time.
