The lake Barken is rather big, 34 sqm. It is ice-covered between app. December 1st – May 1st.
You need a licence if you want to fish in the lake Barken. You can easily buy it by my neighbour (300 m) or in the kiosk in Söderbärke. The price 2003 was:
The sort of fish you can find in the lake Barken is mostly pike, perch, burbot and whitefish. But there is also vendace, salmon-trout, pike-perch and lavaret in a smaller extent.
Once a week there is a jig competition in the wintertime. And once a year, one night in February, we have a special night when we fish/jig burbot.
You can rent our rowing boat (se the photo). It takes 3 – 4 persons. We can also arrange a small petrol engine to the boat (4 hp) at a minor charge.

For sport fishing (game fish) we also recommend Malingsbo/Kloten (25 km), the largest nature conservation area in Sweden, which offers fishing, hunting, horse riding and much more.
